Budhi Khola Site Visit for Engineering Hydrology Practical

Purwanchal Campus | Chaitra 3, 2082 (March 17, 2026)

On Chaitra 3, 2082 (March 17, 2026, Tuesday), we visited the Budhi Khola site as part of our Engineering Hydrology practical from Purwanchal Campus. The field visit was an important learning experience for us because it helped connect classroom knowledge with real-world observation.

A Practical Learning Experience

Engineering Hydrology is a subject that becomes much more meaningful when studied outside the classroom. During the site visit, we were able to observe the natural flow conditions of the river site and understand how hydrological concepts are applied in practice. Seeing the site in person gave us a clearer idea of how water behaves in the field and why such observations matter in civil engineering.

Group Moment After the Practical

After the completion of the practical visit, we took a group picture with some of our classmates. It was a memorable moment that captured both the effort and the learning we shared during the visit. Although not all classmates were present in the photo, it still represents the teamwork and experience we had together at Budhi Khola.

Why Site Visits Matter

Field visits like this are very valuable for civil engineering students. They provide:

  • Real-life exposure to engineering concepts
  • Better understanding of river and flow conditions
  • Practical insight beyond textbooks
  • Teamwork and shared learning among students

Conclusion

The Budhi Khola site visit for our Engineering Hydrology practical was both educational and memorable. It strengthened our understanding of the subject and gave us an opportunity to learn directly from the field. Such experiences play an important role in shaping us as future civil engineers.

Stop Asking Strangers for Referrals! It’s NOT Working – Here’s What Actually Does.

We’ve all been there—desperately reaching out to strangers, hoping that one of them will be kind enough to vouch for us and help us land that perfect job. But let’s face it: It’s not working. Seriously, think about it for a second. Would you  trust for someone you’ve never met before? Probably not. And that’s okay! Because here’s the reality: when you ask someone to refer you without building a relationship first, you’re asking them to put their reputation on the line for someone they don’t know. That’s a big ask, and it’s likely going to fall flat. So, what does work when it comes to getting referrals that actually land you a job? Let’s break it down. 1. Tap Into Your Existing Network Forget cold emailing strangers or randomly reaching out to people you’ve never interacted with. Start with the people who already know you and your work ethic—your existing network. Think former colleagues, classmates, or even that barista at your local coffee shop who remembers your complicate...

The Global Effort to Eliminate Cervical Cancer: A Path to a Healthier Future for Women

Cervical cancer, a disease that develops in the cervix—the entrance to the uterus—continues to be a major public health concern, affecting hundreds of thousands of women worldwide. In fact, cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women globally. Yet, despite its prevalence, we have the tools and strategies necessary to eliminate it as a public health problem. The Link Between HPV and Cervical Cancer Almost all cases of cervical cancer—99%, to be exact—are caused by infection with high-risk human papillomaviruses (HPV). This common virus is transmitted through sexual contact and, while most HPV infections resolve on their own without causing harm, persistent infection can lead to cervical cancer over time. Cervical cancer remains a leading cause of death among women, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where access to screening and treatment is limited. In 2022, an estimated 660,000 women were diagnosed with cervical cancer, and approximately 350,000 women...
